Being able to understand the language of science is key as our intermediate science learners begin to make the transition from elementary to middle school. This is highlighted in a more extensive approach to expanding academic vocabulary and opportunities to write and share. Our intermediate science classes take a closer look at the complex parts of systems like the human body and the biochemical processes of breaking down different kinds of food. Books are still an important part of creating that spark for a hands-on exploration but they are also the launching point for developing the skills to gather and evaluate information from different types of resources.
