Discover the wonders of science with us next year as we offer four different science classes for homeschoolers in the Brazos Valley. From foundational concepts to hands-on discoveries, our courses are designed to make learning fun and engaging. Join us as we use science and faith to explore the world around us!

Our First Things class will be exploring Timely Science in the Fall and Going Moving Doing in the Spring. Did you know that there is a time to plant and a time to harvest? Why do some animals migrate and others hibernate in the winter? Whether it's in terms of years, seasons, months, or days, Timely Science is a 14-week class where Kindergartners and 1st graders will be learning about why we experience seasons and how different plants and animals respond to the changing seasons. Then in the Spring, we'll be changing gears. Going, Moving and Doing is about taking what Kindergartners and 1st graders know about being active and exploring movement as we introduce foundational ideas in physics. We will also learn about famous discoveries in physics and the God who inspired them.
This class has a non-refundable $30 registration fee, $30 materials fee for the year and $360 tuition cost for the year. If you can pay for the whole year in advance, we are happy to take 10% off the tuition price ($320 for the year)

How do we describe the weather around us? How do meteorologists predict the weather? This fall we are offering Stormchasers--a 14-week science course will provide 2nd-3rd graders opportunities to collect weather data, make predictions, and build evidence to support a God-centered understanding of the atmosphere, hydrosphere, and the Sun-Earth-Moon relationships that affect our weather. Then in the Spring, we'll be journeying alongside George Washington Carver and his love of plants. Through careful observations and investigations, we will find many plants provide just the right soil for us to learn the basics of botany together. This 14-week science course provides 2nd-3rd graders a chance to learn more about how God designed different plants to grow and thrive.

However, once you begin to understand the long history of astronomy and its importance and beauty, you can’t help to join with the heavens and declaring the Glory of God. During this class, we will learn some history of astronomy along with famous astronomers as well as learn about the Sun, Moon and Stars, all of which were created on the fourth day! Then in the Spring, walk along with us in the steps of Wilbur and Orville Wright as they discover the mystery of controlled flight! Scaling Up Science (9-10am) is designed to guide science learners through the transition from hands-on observations to the exploration of abstract scientific concepts, theories, and laws. Tailored for 7th and 8th-grade students entering the realm of more complex scientific understanding, this year-long course offers a stimulating journey into the formation of contemporary scientific theories and laws within a dynamic group setting. Throughout the course, students will engage in a variety of in-class activities aimed at reinforcing comprehension and fostering critical thinking. These activities may include filling in fill-in-the-blank notetaking guides during lectures and collaborating with peers to conduct investigations, organize topic-specific cards, or construct models. By actively participating in these activities, students will deepen their understanding of abstract scientific principles while honing their analytical skills.
Dr. Fleming's science classes are $400 for the year. If you are able to pay for the year by the first day of class, there is a 10% discount ($360 for the year)
